The Real Value of Pet Partners: Our Community Hospitals & Our People

Thursday, May 14th, 2009

As CEO of Pet Partners, I continue to welcome the newcomers to this site and to all who have visited before. This Web site continues to be an exciting vehicle for me to communicate to you, the veterinarians who consider us as an alternative for their future practice sale. On this site you will continue to receive updated information in regard to what Pet Partners is doing and where we are going. All of this is meant to make our journey in purchasing community veterinary hospitals as honest and transparent as it can be. We have no secrets!

As you navigate the pages of our site, I am hopeful you will see the difference between us and the rest. Our continued reverence for the community hospital and all the values and goodwill that goes with that drives our passion for what we do every day. Many veterinarians I speak to and most business people I speak to do not understand why we do not interject the name “Pet Partners” into our purchased hospitals. My response is always the same: the value was created before us and our goal is to retain that value. The brand is a local and trusted brand and it is our goal to not taint that brand. That brand is not Pet Partners; it is the community veterinary hospital.

In visiting our Web site, I definitely want you to visit our Team Member Spotlight. This is our way of recognizing one of our outstanding and loyal team members in one of our affiliated practices. Make sure to see this area and help us recognize a very important member of our teams. Also, you will find one of our hospitals featured on the map locating all of our hospitals. Every one of our affiliated hospitals are special in different ways and that uniqueness drives our operating model.

Since my last posting, we have added two new hospital affiliates. First, I want to recognize Meryl Lessinger and her entire staff at Animal Clinic & Wellness Center in Williamsburg, VA. This hospital is the largest physical plant in our group, and this is a dedicated staff that we are excitedly working well with already. The transition is always different for every practice purchased, but as we learn from our new practices how to listen better, the results improve. This transition is going beautifully.

And just this past Monday, we added the Southern Tier Veterinary Associates in Vestal, NY. What a team!! This group will teach us a lot about client service and training. We are excited for the opportunity and more than excited to be working with Drs. Diane Wittner and John Crowell. They are a proven team who will help us take over the market share in this college town suburb of Binghamton, NY. The medicine quality and passion for the clients makes this a special acquisition.

So, keep coming back for there will always be new information for you to view. And thanks for stopping by.

Best wishes,

Ted A Sprinkle, Jr. DVM, CEO & Cofounder Pet Partners, LLC
