Three Hospitals Added to Pet Partners Family

Three Hospitals Added to Pet Partners Family

Over the past two months Pet Partners has added three very nice
hospitals to its family.  With the addition of the Center for Animal
Referral and Emergency Services in Langhorne, PA , this organization has
taken it first step into emergency and specialty veterinary medicine.
CARES, it's acronym, has actually been in the Pet Partners family for
over 8 years as Pet Partners has provided back office support and
management consultation for that period.  With this acquisition comes
over 26 very skilled emergency practitioners and boarded specialist in
fields from surgery, internal medicine, oncology, radiology, cardiology,
ophthalmology, neurology and dermatology.  Hopefully I didn't miss
anyone.  But the real addition is in the leadership and experience that
Jon Rappaport, VMD, and Donna Steckley bring to this team.  The entire
CARES group is a pleasant and professional group.  Welcome to you all!

Jon Rappaport, VMD will remain as Hospital Director of CARES and will
also work with me in the area of development for new Emergency/Specialty
hospitals that fit into the model we have developed together at CARES.
Jon and I have an excellent working relationship and he is a most
positive addition to the operations brain trust at Pet Partners.  Donna
Steckley has been the manager of this medical center for over 6 years
and we have worked closely to establish a business model that works and
supports this great team of professionals.  Donna is also a very
positive addition to our regional operations field team.

Today we are adding two very compatible sister hospitals in Wisconsin.
I continue to be amazed by the diversity of demographics in this country
and the fact that top class medicine is practiced across all these
areas.  Spooner Animal Clinic in Spooner, WI and Care Animal Clinic in
Hayward, WI provide exceptional services to the area pets and owners.
The three owners Gary Sloniker, Helen Szalaijka and Kim Ammann, DVMs are
our latest partner additions to the family and we look forward to
working with them into the future.  As always the decision to come to
Spooner and Hayward was based on people, values and vision.  Their
vision of top class medicine in concert with top class business
disciplines is our shared mission.

There are some other new people now associated with Pet Partners and I
want to take a moment to applaud their arrival in joining this journey.
First, David Bennett has joined us as Regional Manager for the Southeast
which for now takes in all hospitals from Maryland to Florida.  As we
develop further in this area the region will split but for now David
will handle all.  David comes to us with exceptional people skills,
tremendous humility, intellectual astuteness and as a bonus experience
in multi site service business.

Brenda Smaller has taken the reigns as manager of Boone Animal Hospital
in Western Springs, IL and along with the medical leadership of Shay
Redfield, DVM, this practice has taken things to a new level of service
and results.  Welcome Brenda.  We are happy to have you as part of the
team.  Also added recently Pamela Andross has taken hold at Naugatuck
Veterinary Hospital and is bringing a new sense of organization and
business leadership.  Welcome Pam and keep up the good work.

As we head into a new year we look forward to a cleansing of the
economy, a more positive view of the future for all of us and improved
results for all.
