Amherst Veterinary Hospital is currently seeking a Full-time Associate Veterinarian to join our well established, continuously growing small animal practice! We currently have four practicing doctors and are looking to expand our team. Our hospital’s goal is to assemble a veterinary health care team who are committed to providing exceptional client service and veterinary health care. The Amherst Veterinary Hospital team demonstrates a strong commitment to our clients by holding professionally high standards, and additionally, by administration of compassionate care to all pets entrusted to us.

Our ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic new graduate or experienced clinician. We are seeking a professional individual who is passionate about providing exceptional quality animal care with excellent interpersonal skills. This is an ideal opportunity for a new graduate, as we provide mentorship in a supportive atmosphere fostered with the support of our dedicated team members. Our team is friendly and caring towards each other, the animals, and clients.

Our hospital is fully equipped with new technology, an in-house laboratory and equipment. We offer comprehensive services including surgery (orthopedic/soft tissue), preventative & corrective dentistry, Internal Medicine, Chemotherapy along with Intensive Care. Although we’ve been in practice since 1976, we are always open to new ideas and techniques that can improve the quality of care we provide to our patients. Our team is always willing to learn from each other and grow.

Our practice is located near the Blue Ridge Mountains, and five miles north of Lynchburg, VA, a city near the center of the state and approximately 180 miles southwest of Washington, DC. An active community boasting friendly residential neighborhoods, Lynchburg has a tradition of outstanding public education and operates one of the top school systems in the state. The city is also home to five public/private colleges and universities. A city with outstanding cultural, educational, and recreation opportunities, Lynchburg operates 12 parks, 24 playgrounds, eight community centers, an Olympic-size pool, 34 tennis courts, and 26 baseball diamonds.
